Press Information

Welcome

The Operating Committee thanks members of the media for your interest in the 6th International Barcode of Life Conference.

More than 500 researchers from around the world attended the 6th International Barcode of Life Conference at the University of Guelph. DNA barcoding has garnered extensive media coverage, including the recent induction of the founder of DNA barcoding, Paul Hebert, into the Order of Canada. Other newsworthy events include the recent use of DNA barcoding to prevent trafficking in endangered species, uncovering market fraud in herbal supplements, and the ‘Sushi-Gate’ controversy brought to the public eye by two high school students.

Unedited videos of the morning plenary sessions can be found on Youtube. Additional videos, including selected parallel sessions, will be made available at a later date. Photos and other media will also be shared on the conference website. Please direct any media enquiries to info@dnabarcodes2015.org.
